Nonsuch Mansion is one of those places that makes you stop and take it all in. Set in beautiful Surrey parkland, it brings together elegant architecture, gardens and the kind of natural light I love to photograph. I was delighted to capture Emma and Raif’s wedding here, and their day is a lovely example of everything this setting has to offer.
A CLOSER LOOK
Emma & Raif’s storyA wedding at Nonsuch Mansion
From the anticipation of getting ready to the celebrations later in the day, Nonsuch Mansion offers a beautiful setting for a wedding that feels entirely your own. The rooms have character and warmth, while the surrounding parkland offers plenty of space to step outside, take a breath and enjoy time together.
The mansion is available for exclusive hire and is licensed for civil ceremonies. Whether you imagine an intimate gathering or a larger celebration, the venue team can talk you through the spaces and options that suit your plans.
A little history
Nonsuch Mansion stands in Nonsuch Park, close to the site of Henry VIII’s former Nonsuch Palace. The mansion itself was remodelled in the early 1800s and is Grade II* listed. Its Tudor Gothic details give the building a distinctive character, with beautiful features both inside and out.
The photographs
There is so much to work with as a photographer: the character of the house, the soft light inside and the greenery of the park. But the best photographs are always about more than the setting. They’re about the way you look at each other, the people around you and the little moments that happen naturally.
For portraits, I’ll offer gentle guidance when you need it and leave room for you to relax together. We can make the most of the mansion and its grounds without taking you away from your guests for too long.
Planning your day
The venue offers on-site accommodation, and there are also places to stay in the surrounding area. Availability, capacities and prices can change, so it’s worth checking the latest details directly with the venue as you plan.
Whatever your plans look like, make a little space in your timeline to enjoy the setting and spend time together. Some of my favourite photographs happen when there’s room to simply be yourselves.
