Choosing the right venue sets the stage for a day you’ll remember for years to come. In the Essex countryside, Crondon Park brings together the character of a historic barn, beautiful gardens and a relaxed setting for celebrating with the people you love. I had the pleasure of photographing Alicia and Tyrone’s wedding here, and I’d love to share a little of their day with you.
A CLOSER LOOK
Alicia & Tyrone’s storyA countryside escape in Essex
Set in the Stock Valley, Crondon Park is surrounded by greenery and countryside views. Its gardens offer a lovely place for guests to gather, and a peaceful backdrop for a few photographs together away from the celebrations.
It’s a setting that feels both special and welcoming: somewhere to enjoy the occasion, take a breath and make the most of time with your favourite people.
A beautiful barn for your celebration
At the heart of Crondon Park is the Baronial Hall, a Tudor barn dating back to 1606. Its timber beams, high ceiling and chandeliers give the space plenty of character, whether you’re planning an elegant celebration or something more relaxed.
There’s a ceremony room alongside the hall, and the venue also offers garden ceremonies when the weather allows. Having the different parts of your day in one place means more time to enjoy it all with your guests.
Planning your wedding day
From the first plans to the celebrations themselves, the Crondon Park team can help you explore the options for your day. The venue offers wedding packages and on-site accommodation, making it worth asking what’s included and what will work best for your plans.
The team can also talk you through the spaces, guest numbers and practical details. Packages and availability can change, so I’d recommend checking the latest information directly with the venue.
Food, drink and celebrating together
A wedding breakfast is a chance to slow down, raise a glass and share the day with your guests. Crondon Park offers catering for the celebration, including a wedding breakfast and evening food; speak to the venue about menus and any dietary requirements.
Some of my favourite photographs happen around the tables: the speeches, laughter and reactions you might otherwise miss in the excitement of the day.
Photographing your wedding at Crondon Park
The barn’s warm interiors and the gardens outside give us plenty of variety throughout the day. From the ceremony and confetti to portraits in the countryside and the energy of the evening, there are opportunities to tell the whole story naturally.
Alicia and Tyrone’s photographs capture the joy of being together as the light softened towards evening. I’ll offer gentle guidance for your portraits, while leaving plenty of room for the real smiles, quiet moments and spontaneous celebrations that make the day yours.
